Job Overview
We are seeking a versatile and experienced General Handyman Fixture to join our team. This role involves maintaining, repairing, and installing various fixtures and equipment across our facilities. The ideal candidate will possess a broad skill set encompassing mechanical, electrical, and welding expertise, with strong leadership qualities to supervise maintenance activities. Duties
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of fixtures, machinery, and equipment to ensure optimal operation.
- Repair or replace faulty fixtures, fittings, and mechanical components using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Perform welding tasks where necessary to repair or fabricate metal parts.
- Read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and electrical diagrams to facilitate accurate repairs and installations.
- Programme and troubleshoot programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to support automation processes.
- Assist in the installation of new fixtures or equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Supervise maintenance activities carried out by team members or contractors, ensuring work is completed efficiently and safely.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance work performed and parts utilised.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing internal or external client needs promptly and professionally.
- Lead safety initiatives within the team, promoting best practices in electrical and mechanical maintenance.
Experience
- Proven experience in mechanical maintenance, electrical systems, welding, or related fields.
- Familiarity with schematics, technical drawings, and wiring diagrams is essential.
- Experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) is highly desirable.
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience in a maintenance environment is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations related to electrical work, welding, and general facility maintenance.
- Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to lead teams effectively.
- Customer service experience is advantageous for liaising with internal departments or external clients.
This role requires a proactive individual capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining high standards of safety and quality assurance across all maintenance activities.
Pay: £14.00-£20.00 per hour
