Background
Our Court of Protection department is a specialised department dedicated to dealing with the management of the property and financial affairs together with health and welfare decisions of people who lack the ability to deal with such matters themselves.
Our Court of Protection Deputies work closely with families and carers to ensure that the pressures and additional stresses of looking after individuals’ personal finances are removed. We ensure that contact and liaison is maintained, and decisions taken by us are understood and in the best interests of the individual.
The Role
We are currently looking for a Solicitor (0- 4 years PQE) to join our Court of Protection department in Manchester.
As a Solicitor you will be responsible for:

The day-to-day management of client’s property and affairs; managing their assets and ensuring that you act within their best interests at all times.
- To assist Court of Protection Deputies in meeting clients’ specific needs and requirements.
- Ensuring that an audit trial is produced and available on all casework undertaken with time being recorded accordingly.
You will be responsible for managing your own caseload whilst assisting Deputies on higher value matters. You will therefore be required to work using your own initiative and as part of a team.
We are welcoming applicants with Court of Protection experience who can demonstrate a solid understanding of the crucial role which a Property & Affairs Deputy takes in the litigation process and beyond. Candidates must have some prior exposure to Court of Protection matters.
The PQE mentioned is a guide only and applications are welcomed from anyone with the necessary skills and experience.
The successful candidate will be provided with support and guidance through regular supervision meetings, making this an ideal opportunity for someone who is passionate about building a career within Court of Protection.
