Looking for a filmmaking role that gets you out into the world as well as into the edit? Pearldrop is looking for an ambitious all-round filmmaker to join our growing production team.
This is a genuine 50/50 production and post-production role, with the chance to travel all over the UK and occasionally into Europe for shoots. One day you could be filming interviews in London; the next, editing a live event film at our Stevenage studio; then travelling across the country for another production.
About Pearldrop
Established in 2003, Pearldrop is a full-service creative film agency based in Stevenage, covering the whole of the UK and beyond. Our services include production, editing, animation, aerial photography and videography and stills. We work with a wide range of businesses, large corporations, schools and universities, national and local charities and government agencies.
What you’ll be doing
· Setting up and operating cameras, lighting and location sound
· Filming interviews, B-roll, events and great-looking shots
· Setting up, balancing and confidently operating gimbals
· Editing complete client films in Adobe Premiere Pro
· Creating graphics, titles and animation in Adobe After Effects
· Shaping stories from rushes, then taking projects through revisions to final delivery
· Working as part of a close-knit professional production team
What you’ll bring
We need someone who is already strong in both filming and editing — not just one or the other. You should have a solid understanding of cameras, exposure, lenses, frame rates, shutter speeds, white balance, focus, lighting and sound, and be able to make sensible technical and creative decisions independently. Experience with a Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K Pro is ideal, although strong practical camera knowledge matters most.
You must have your own car and a full clean UK driving licence, be comfortable travelling regularly, and be able to work full-time from our Stevenage base when not on location. This is not a working-from-home role.
Career progression
Production Assistant → Production Executive → Senior Production Executive → Production Manager
For the right person, there is significant opportunity for rapid progression.
