We are recruiting for a confident, ambitious and hands-on Deputy General Manager to join a busy and successful hospitality business in Oxford.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing company at an exciting time, taking on a key leadership role within one of their important sites.
The Role
As Deputy General Manager, you will work closely with the General Manager to lead a busy, high-energy operation turning over approximately £40,000 per week.
You will be a visible leader, comfortable being on the floor, engaging with guests and supporting your team to deliver an excellent experience.
You'll play a key role in:
- Supporting the General Manager with the day-to-day running of the business
- Leading, motivating and developing a high-performing team
- Driving excellent guest experience and service standards
- Managing a busy and fast-paced operation
- Supporting with recruitment, training and team development
- Monitoring sales, labour, costs and other key business performance measures
- Taking responsibility for the site in the General Manager's absence
- Helping drive the business forward and supporting its continued success
About You
We are looking for someone with a big personality, strong leadership skills and a genuine passion for hospitality.
You will ideally be:
- An experienced Deputy General Manager or Assistant General Manager
- Alternatively, a strong Assistant Manager who is genuinely ready to step up
- Experienced within a busy, high-volume hospitality, bar, pub or restaurant environment
- A confident and natural people manager
- Commercially aware and comfortable understanding the numbers behind the business
- Hands-on, energetic and happy to lead from the front
- Ambitious and keen to develop your career within a growing business
