Property & Portfolio Operations Assistant (Contract / Self-Employed)

We are a growing group of companies operating in the UK property development and investment sector. Our business develops and retains high-quality residential assets within our long-term rental portfolio. We currently manage 35 units with a further 19 units in the pipeline.
We are looking for a highly capable, organised and proactive Property & Portfolio Operations Assistant to work directly with the owner and support the day-to-day running of a fast-paced property business on a self-employed / contract basis.
This is a varied, hands-on role where no two days are the same. You will help manage operations, administration, tenants, contractors and business coordination, allowing senior management to focus on growth and higher-value priorities.
The Role
This opportunity would suit someone who enjoys autonomy, variety and responsibility, and is comfortable working in a flexible contractor arrangement.
Key ResponsibilitiesProperty Management
- Assisting with tenancy onboarding and move-ins
- Coordinating maintenance issues and repairs
- Liaising with tenants professionally and promptly
- Scheduling inspections and site visits
- Maintaining tenancy records and trackers
- Supporting compliance administration (gas safety, EICR, EPC, licensing etc.)
Administration & Operations
- Managing emails, calls and correspondence
- Organising digital files, records and systems
- Diary management and scheduling appointments
- Chasing contractors, suppliers and agents
- Preparing spreadsheets, reports and trackers
- Handling utilities, council matters and general admin
Development Support
- Assisting with new acquisitions and project admin
- Coordinating trades and project updates
- Tracking refurbishments, deadlines and actions
- Supporting wider business needs as required
About You

- Happy to roll sleeves up and get involved
Ideal Experience
- Property management / lettings experience
- Administrative / operations / PA background
- Contractor coordination experience
- Knowledge of UK property compliance
Contract Terms
- Self-employed / freelance / contractor basis
- Paid gross against invoice
- Flexible structure: full-time equivalent or retained monthly arrangement
- Immediate start available
- Potential for long-term ongoing engagement
Location
Flexible depending on candidate. Hybrid / Office / site visits as required
Pay: £500.00 per week
