Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dog Groomer to join our professional pet care team. we are looking for someone for potentially Thursday 8-5, Friday 8-5, Saturday 8-4 and Sunday 10-4x the ideal candidate will have a passion for animal welfare and possess the skills necessary to deliver high-quality grooming services. This role offers an opportunity to work in a friendly environment where animal care and customer satisfaction are our top priorities. The Dog Groomer will be responsible for ensuring each pet receives personalised grooming tailored to their breed, size, and individual needs, contributing to their overall health and happiness.
Duties
- Bathing, drying, and brushing dogs of various breeds and sizes using appropriate grooming tools and techniques
- Trimming, clipping, and styling coats according to breed standards or customer preferences
- Checking for skin issues, parasites, or abnormalities during grooming sessions and reporting concerns to pet owners or veterinary professionals
- Maintaining a clean and hygienic grooming area, including sanitising tools and equipment after each use
- Providing excellent customer service by discussing grooming preferences with pet owners and offering advice on at-home care
- Managing appointments efficiently to ensure timely service delivery
- Assisting with heavy lifting of pets when necessary, ensuring safety for both animals and staff
- Upholding health and safety standards in line with industry regulations
Requirements
- Previous experience in a salon
- Level 3 qualified
- Strong understanding of animal behaviour and care needs
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with pet owners
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when handling larger dogs or equipment safely
- Organised with attention to detail to ensure each pet’s grooming needs are met accurately
- Compassionate attitude towards animals and their owners
- Flexibility to work on a scheduled basis, including weekends if required
- Relevant certifications or training in pet grooming or animal care are advantageous but not essential
