GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
· To be friendly, courteous and professional at all times to colleagues, suppliers or anyone entering the kitchen.
· Work in such a way as to provide a positive example for all junior staff
· Is responsible and delegates appropriate tasks to junior staff
· Monitor all Commis Chefs and kps on section are properly instructed and guided through all tasks
· Works to ensure the section has produced enough Mise En Plus is made prior to service,
· Ensures that their section, and they personally, always maintains the highest standard of food preparation that meets the Head Chef’s and company’s standards
· Always ensure that all chef’s in section work to company costed, spec recipes, as instructed by Head Chef
· Checks to ensure all food on section is correctly stored and prepped to prevent wastage and cross contamination.
· Always works to ensure minimal waste of both fresh and prepared food.
· Records any wastage correctly, so that all products are accounted for.
· Works safely and tidily at all times, and ensures the safety of others, adhering to H&S legislation.
· When required correctly records all temperature checks, and files as per company standards
· To wear correct Personal Protection equipment when required for hazardous jobs
· Works cleanly and observes recognised food Hygiene legislation
· Always leaves section clean at the end of each shift, and where required prepped for the next shift
· Completes handover sheet at end of shift with all relevant information
· Ensures all orders for section are properly listed, checked and ordered, or passed on to Sous Chef, as required
· Works as part of the team to ensure Kitchen is clean and tidy at the end of shift, or at the end of the day.
· To ensure opening and closing procedures are carried out to company standards
· Wears the appropriate, clean and well maintained clothing and footwear for each shift, which matches the dress code for the role, in line with company policy.
· Consistently arrives in a timely manner for the start of each shift.
· Attend all staff meetings and training as requested, whether in-house or with an external provider
· Carry out any other duties as are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job as requested by Management

Pay: £32,000.00-£36,000.00 per year
