Thorburn Group is a growing business operating across construction, structural steel, agricultural buildings, livestock equipment, and engineering projects throughout Scotland and Northern England. We are seeking an experienced and organised Warehouse Manager to lead our warehouse operations and ensure efficient stock control, goods handling, and logistics management.
The Role
As Warehouse Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operation of our warehouse and stores facility, ensuring materials, equipment, and stock are managed efficiently to support our workshop, manufacturing, agricultural, and construction divisions.
This is a key position requiring strong leadership, organisational skills, and a proactive approach to maintaining smooth operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all warehouse and stores operations.
- Monitor and maintain stock levels across multiple business divisions.
- Organise the receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods and materials.
- Ensure accurate stock control and inventory management.
- Coordinate deliveries and collections with suppliers and transport providers.
- Maintain safe and efficient warehouse procedures.
- Supervise warehouse staff and allocate daily workloads.
- Conduct regular stock takes and inventory audits.
- Work closely with purchasing, project managers, workshop teams, and site managers.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Identify opportunities to improve warehouse efficiency and processes.
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience in a Warehouse Manager, Stores Manager, or similar role.
- Strong stock management and inventory control experience.
- Excellent organisational and planning skills.
- Good IT skills and stock management systems.
- Strong leadership and people management abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and prioritise workloads.
Desirable Skills
- Experience within construction, engineering, manufacturing, agricultural, or steel fabrication industries.
- Forklift licence (or willingness to obtain).
- Experience using ERP or warehouse management systems.
- Knowledge of construction materials, steel products, or agricultural equipment.

Pay: From £28,000.00 per year
