Location: Preston, with travel to customer sites and events
Contract: Full-time, permanent
Reports to: Head of Digital Marketing
Gym Gear is looking for a Social Media & Content Producer to take day-to-day ownership of our organic social media channels and create high-quality video and photography content.
This is a hands-on position for someone who can spot a content opportunity, develop the idea, capture the footage and take it through editing to publication.
You could be filming a gym transformation, interviewing a customer inside a completed facility, producing behind-the-scenes coverage from a DEKA event or photographing new equipment in our studio.
The role
Your primary responsibility will be planning, creating and publishing organic content across Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok and YouTube.
You will be encouraged to develop ideas, recurring content formats and platform-specific approaches that improve the quality and variety of Gym Gear’s social output.
Video production is a major part of the role. You must be confident taking projects from filming through to final delivery, including:
- Professional video editing and visual storytelling
- Working with LOG footage
- Colour correction and colour grading
- Audio editing and noise reduction
- Titles, captions and motion graphics
- Short-form social and longer case study content
- Exports for different platforms and formats
The software you use is less important than the quality of the finished result. DaVinci Resolve, Adobe and other professional workflows are all suitable.
The role will also include product, lifestyle, installation and event photography, together with artwork support for brochures, proposals, tender documents, case studies, specification sheets, exhibition materials and social graphics.
Artwork will be produced within established Gym Gear branding and creative direction. This is not a senior brand-design position.
What we are looking for
You should have a portfolio demonstrating strong organic social content, professional video editing, photography and artwork or document production.
You will need to be:
- Able to generate content ideas and plan a social calendar
- A strong video editor with colour-grading experience
- Confident filming and photographing on location
- Comfortable writing captions for different audiences
- Organised and able to manage several projects
- Accurate when producing artwork and finished files
- Comfortable speaking with customers, colleagues and industry partners
A degree is not essential. Practical experience, portfolio quality and clear evidence of your personal contribution are more important.
A genuine interest in fitness, training, sport or gym culture is highly desirable. Previous fitness-industry employment would be beneficial but is not required.
Industry opportunities
The role may include opportunities to attend selected DEKA events, independent gym competitions, launches and industry exhibitions such as Elevate and PerformX Live.
You will also visit gym installations and completed customer facilities, meeting gym owners, operators, athletes, coaches and partners across the fitness sector.
Attendance and ticket access will depend on the event calendar, business requirements and availability.
The role is based at Gym Gear’s head office in Preston and involves travel to customer sites and events. Occasional evening or weekend requirements will be planned and communicated in advance.

Please send your CV together with:
