Join our dynamic team as a Trainee Floor Sander & Refinishing Technician and kick-start your career in the flooring and construction industry! This paid training position offers hands-on experience in sanding, refinishing, and restoring hardwood floors, helping you develop essential skills in surface preparation, finishing techniques, and equipment operation. Our clients are both in the commercial and residential sectors and work is carried out in London, Surrey and the srurrounding counties. However a requirement is that our new recruit lives close to our headquarters in Egham, Surrey to enable travel from Egham in a company van. No prior experience is necessary—just a strong work ethic and enthusiasm to learn!
Duties
- Assist with the preparation of flooring surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and smoothing floors using hand tools and power tools
- Support the application of finishes such as stains and sealants to hardwood floors under supervision
- Learn to operate sanding machines, buffers, grinders, and other flooring equipment safely and effectively
- Follow schematics and technical instructions to ensure precise refinishing work
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency on-site
- Collaborate with experienced technicians to complete projects on time and to high standards
- Participate in safety training sessions and adhere to all safety protocols during job tasks
Requirements
- Basic construction experience or familiarity with hand tools, power tools, or carpentry is preferred but not required
- Willingness to learn equipment operation
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality workmanship
- Good physical stamina for standing, bending and lifting
- Reliable transportation to job sites; punctuality is essential
- Enthusiasm for developing new skills within the flooring industry

Pay: £24,000.00-£48,000.00 per year
