About Us
Colney Hatch Lane Surgery is a well-established, friendly GP practice serving approximately 5,500 patients in Muswell Hill, North London.We pride ourselves on having a positive, collaborative culture where every member of the team is respected and supported. We work closely together across GPs, nurses, pharmacists, healthcare assistants, administrators and management to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care.Our practice embraces innovation and makes extensive use of technology to improve efficiency, including platforms such as Anima and EMIS, enabling clinicians to focus on what matters most—our patients.The RoleThis is a varied and rewarding role offering the opportunity to work independently whilst also being fully supported by an experienced multidisciplinary team.Your responsibilities will include:
- Independent management of patients with minor illness.
- Hypertension diagnosis and management.
- Long-term condition reviews including asthma, COPD and cardiovascular disease.
- Structured medication reviews.
- Managing acute and repeat prescription queries.
- Medicines reconciliation following hospital discharge.
- Processing clinical correspondence and medication changes using EMIS and Anima.
- Responding to medication queries from both patients and members of the practice team.
- Working closely with GPs and other clinicians to optimise prescribing and patient safety.
- Supporting quality improvement initiatives within the practice.
Training & Development
We are passionate about education and developing clinicians.You will receive ongoing support, supervision and mentoring from experienced GP Partners, including Dr Kalpesh Patel, who has a strong interest in clinical education, innovation and multidisciplinary working.Our practice regularly hosts Independent Prescribing pharmacist students so an enthusiasm for teaching and supporting future clinicians would be highly valued.We actively encourage continued professional development and welcome pharmacists who are keen to expand their skills.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Is a qualified Independent Prescribing Pharmacist (IP).
- Is confident assessing and managing patients independently.
- Has experience working within general practice (desirable).
- Enjoys working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Is compassionate, approachable and patient-focused.
- Is organised and able to prioritise workload effectively.
- Enjoys learning and embraces new technology.
- Wants to contribute positively to a friendly and supportive practice culture.
