Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and proactive SEND Support Worker / Personal Assistant / Care Assistant to provide dedicated care and support for a child with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). This vital role involves assisting with daily routines, implementing tailored care plans, and fostering a safe, nurturing environment. Duties
- Support the child with daily activities such as dressing, feeding, and personal hygiene in accordance with their individual care plan
- Implement tailored strategies to promote communication, social skills, and behavioral development
- Assist with educational activities and sensory play to encourage learning and engagement
- Accompany the child to appointments, activities, or outings, ensuring safety at all times
- Maintain accurate records of progress, incidents, and care routines using IT tools or care plan documentation
- Foster a positive environment that encourages independence while providing necessary supervision
- Communicate effectively with parents, teachers, and healthcare professionals to coordinate care and share updates on progress
Qualifications
- Previous experience working with children who have Autism or ADHD is highly desirable
- Strong communication skills in English to effectively interact with the child and team members
- Ability to follow detailed care plans and adapt approaches as needed
- Valid driving license preferred for transporting the child safely to appointments or outings
- Familiarity with IT systems for record keeping and communication purposes
- Compassionate attitude with excellent patience and understanding of children’s needs
- Basic knowledge of health & safety regulations related to child care environments
