Starsmile is a welcoming, patient-focused dental practice committed to delivering high-quality care in a friendly and professional environment. We are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Dental Hygienist to join our team for two days per week.
The Role
You will provide excellent preventive and periodontal care, helping patients maintain good oral health through treatment, education, and ongoing support. You will always work alongside a dental nurse, allowing you to focus on delivering efficient, comfortable, and attentive patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out dental hygiene treatments, including scaling, polishing, and periodontal therapy.
- Assess and monitor patients' periodontal and oral health.
- Develop appropriate care plans within your professional scope of practice.
- Provide clear, tailored advice on oral hygiene, diet, smoking cessation, and disease prevention.
- Build positive relationships with patients, including those who may feel nervous or anxious.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical records.
- Follow current infection prevention, decontamination, safeguarding, and health and safety procedures.
- Work collaboratively with dentists, dental nurses, and the wider practice team.
- Maintain professional knowledge through continuing professional development.
Essential Requirements
- Qualified Dental Hygienist with current GDC registration.
- Appropriate professional indemnity cover.
- Up-to-date CPD and knowledge of relevant clinical guidance.
- A caring, professional, and patient-centred approach.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a supportive clinical team.
- Reliable, organised, and committed to maintaining high clinical standards.
