Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Transport Coordinator to manage and optimise our logistics operations. The successful candidate will oversee the movement of goods, coordinate with various departments, and ensure efficient utilisation of transportation resources. Duties
- Manage transportation schedules using transportation management systems (TMS) to ensure timely delivery and receipt of goods.
- Coordinate with third-party logistics providers (3PL) and internal teams to optimise shipping and receiving operations.
- Utilise systems such as AS400 and SyteLine for data entry, tracking, and reporting related to shipments.
- Analyse logistics data to identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements in supply chain processes.
- Communicate effectively with carriers, suppliers, and internal departments via phone and email, maintaining professional phone etiquette.
- Oversee shipping documentation, customs paperwork, and compliance requirements for international and domestic shipments.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with warehouse teams to ensure accurate stock management.
- Maintain detailed records of all transportation activities, including analysis reports for management review.
Qualifications
- Proven experience with transportation management systems (TMS) and supply chain operations.
- Familiarity with third-party logistics (3PL) providers and shipping & receiving procedures.
- Knowledge of systems such as AS400 and SyteLine is highly desirable.
- Strong analysis skills with the ability to interpret data to improve logistics efficiency.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with professional phone etiquette.
- Proficiency in data entry, typing, and maintaining accurate records within logistics software platforms.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working within logistics or supply chain environments is preferred but not essential; relevant training will be provided for suitable candidates.
