Position: Accounts Administrator
Location: Head Office, WN1 2DN (with occasional visits to care homes)
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday
Salary: £28,000 - £32,000
We are looking for an organised, capable Accounts Administrator with a strong knowledge base in Accounts to become a central part of our growing organisation.
We operate three care homes alongside a portfolio of managed properties, and this role sits at the heart of the business. The successful candidate will assist with maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and ensuring financial information is recorded efficiently and accurately. This role requires excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving problems, creating order, improving processes, and making businesses work better.
The Role
Responsibilities include:
- Process purchase invoices across all entities
- Raise and issue sales invoices.
- Maintain accurate accounts payable and accounts receivable records.
- Reconcile supplier statements and resolve invoice queries.
- Perform bank reconciliations.
- Assist with credit control and customer payment collection.
- Prepare and post journal entries where required.
- Support month-end and year-end financial procedures.
- Maintain financial records and filing systems.
- Assist with payroll administration.
- Respond to internal and external finance-related enquiries.
- Provide administrative support to the finance team as required.
- Improving workflows, processes, and reporting across the business.
- Supporting finance administration.
- Processing invoices and supporting finance procedures (Sage experience beneficial)
- Creating and maintaining SOPs, checklists, systems, and operational documentation
- Managing tasks, projects, and accountability processes using Asana and other digital platforms.
- Supporting HR administration, compliance tracking, reporting, and operational organisation.
- Assisting with general business administration wherever needed and occasional marketing coordination.
- Visiting care homes and managed properties when required to support operational systems and processes.
- Acting as a dependable problem solver who helps keep the organisation organised, efficient, and moving forward.
We are looking for someone who:
- Is highly organised, structured, and naturally process-driven.
- Is confident with technology and comfortable learning and implementing new systems.
- Has experience in administration, business support, ERP or finance management systems.
- Has finance or accounts administration experience.
- Thrives in a varied, hands-on role within a growing organisation.
- Takes initiative and ownership rather than waiting to be asked.
- Enjoys improving efficiency, solving operational problems, and bringing structure to businesses.
- Communicates professionally and works well with both management and operational teams.
