Community Support Worker – Community Based Only (Must Have Own Car & Business Insurance)Overview

Responsibilities
- Support clients to access the community safely, including attending appointments, social activities, shopping, and wellbeing-based outings.
- Encourage independence, confidence, and positive routines through person‑centred support.
- Provide emotional support, reassurance, and practical guidance tailored to each client’s needs.
- Use behaviour management and de‑escalation strategies where appropriate.
- Maintain professional boundaries while building positive, supportive relationships.
- Drive clients to and from community activities using your own vehicle, ensuring safe driving practices at all times.
- Keep accurate records of support provided and report any concerns or changes in client wellbeing.
- Work collaboratively with supervising staff and follow agreed support plans.
Requirements
- Prior experience in community support, mental health, disability support, or similar roles is highly desirable.
- Understanding of behaviour management, mental health conditions, and person‑centred practice.
- Must have your own car and valid business insurance, as transporting clients is essential to the role.
- Valid driving licence and clean driving record.
- Excellent communication skills and a compassionate, non‑judgemental approach.
- Ability to work independently while following support plans accurately.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts including mornings, afternoons, evenings, and occasional weekends.
Pay: From £12.71 per hour
