Purpose:
The Technical Project Manager is responsible for the successful planning, coordination, and delivery of technical projects across the business, with a primary focus on new client onboardings. The role ensures projects are delivered on time, within scope, within budget, and to a consistently high standard whilst providing an exceptional customer experience.
Acting as the central point of coordination between customers, technical teams, suppliers, and internal stakeholders, the Technical Project Manager will proactively manage risks, dependencies, communications, and project governance throughout the project lifecycle.
The role also provides project assurance through the peer review of Statements of Work (SOWs), ensuring solutions are appropriately scoped, commercially viable, technically deliverable, and aligned to customer requirements before projects enter delivery.

Key duties and responsibilities:
Client Onboarding & Service Transition
- Own the delivery of all new client onboarding projects from sales handover through to operational acceptance.
- Coordinate onboarding activities across Technical Services, Service Desk, Operations, Account Management, and third-party vendors.
- Ensure all onboarding plans, documentation, risks, dependencies, and customer communications are actively managed.
- Facilitate onboarding meetings and project governance activities.
- Ensure all onboarding deliverables are completed prior to transition into BAU support.
- Drive continual improvement of onboarding processes and customer experience.
Project Delivery & Management
- Manage multiple concurrent infrastructure, cloud, cybersecurity, automation, and business improvement projects.
- Define project objectives, scope, deliverables, timelines, budgets, and resource requirements.
- Monitor project progress and proactively manage risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies.
- Ensure projects are delivered within agreed timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Produce accurate project reporting for customers and internal stakeholders.
- Facilitate project closure activities, lessons learned reviews, and operational handovers.
Scope Assurance & Statement of Work Review
- Peer review Statements of Work before approval and delivery.
- Challenge project assumptions, timelines, effort estimates, technical approaches, and delivery risks.
- Identify scope gaps, commercial risks, and resourcing concerns.
- Work collaboratively with Sales, Solutions Architecture, and Technical Services to improve estimation accuracy.
- Support the development and continual improvement of project scoping standards and templates.
Stakeholder Management
- Build trusted relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all project-related communications.
- Manage stakeholder expectations throughout project delivery.
- Escalate significant delivery risks or concerns appropriately and in a timely manner.
- Support Technical Account Managers and Account Managers in client-facing project discussions.
Governance, Quality & Continuous Improvement
- Maintain project governance documentation and project records.
- Ensure compliance with company processes, security requirements, and quality standards. Support ISO27001 compliance activities where applicable.
- Contribute to continual improvement initiatives across Project Delivery and Service Transition.
- Identify opportunities to improve project profitability, consistency, automation, and customer experience.
B Corp & Environmental Responsibilities
- Support the organisation's commitment to balancing commercial success with positive social and environmental impact.
- Consider environmental sustainability and responsible business practices during project planning and delivery.
- Promote ethical, transparent, and customer-focused decision-making.
- Support initiatives that contribute to the organisation's B Corp commitments and wider ESG objectives.
- Actively contribute to a culture of accountability, inclusivity, and continuous improvement.
Essential requirements - qualifications, skills, abilities, and experience:
- Minimum 3–5 years' project management experience within an MSP, IT services, or technology environment.
- Strong understanding of Microsoft 365, Azure, networking, cybersecurity, and managed services.
- Experience managing customer onboarding or service transition projects.
- Excellent organisational, planning, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Experience reviewing project scopes and Statements of Work.
- Strong commercial awareness and understanding of project profitability.
- Experience using PSA and project management tools.
Desirable
- PRINCE2 Practitioner, AgilePM, PMP, APM PMQ, or equivalent qualification.
- Previous technical engineering, consultancy, or solutions architecture background. Experience with Halo PSA.
- Understanding of ITIL frameworks.
- Experience working within ISO27001 and compliance-focused environments.
- Experience supporting B Corp, ESG, or sustainability initiatives
Special conditions: Remote-first role with occasional UK travel to customer sites and company events. Flexibility to support occasional out-of-hours project work and customer onboarding activities. Subject to security screening where required by customer contracts. Must maintain compliance with company security, confidentiality, and ISO27001 requirements.
Pay: £45,000.00-£65,000.00 per year
