Our client, a well-established residential construction company, is looking to recruit an experienced General Builder to join their team on a temporary-to-permanent basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled builder who is confident managing residential projects from start to finish while remaining hands-on throughout the build. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of current UK Building Regulations and be capable of overseeing site operations to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out all aspects of general building work on residential projects, including extensions, renovations, refurbishments, and alterations.
- Oversee projects from commencement through to completion.
- Coordinate and supervise subcontractors and trades on site.
- Ensure all work complies with current UK Building Regulations and Health & Safety requirements.
- Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Maintain high standards of workmanship and quality control.
- Resolve site issues efficiently and keep projects progressing to programme.
- Liaise professionally with clients, suppliers, and the wider project team.
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience as a General Builder within the residential sector.
- Ability to oversee projects while remaining hands-on.
- Up-to-date knowledge of UK Building Regulations.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple aspects of a project.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable
- CSCS Card.
- SSSTS or SMSTS qualification.
- Experience delivering residential extensions, refurbishments, and renovation projects.
