Role Overview
We’re looking for a hands-on, organised, and process-driven Operations Executive who enjoys keeping things moving and making sure the details are right. This is a key role within our Operations team, supporting the smooth running of our order processing and wider operational activity.
You’ll act as an important link between Sales, Accounts, Buying and Warehouse, helping to ensure customer orders are processed accurately and delivered on time. You’ll take ownership of operational tasks, identify issues before they become problems, and support projects and process improvements that help the business work more efficiently.
If you’re someone who enjoys solving problems, keeping multiple moving parts under control, and seeing a process through from start to finish, you’ll fit right in.
Key Responsibilities
Order Management
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of customer orders.
- Monitor order flow and proactively resolve any issues that may impact delivery.
- Communicate issues relating to Purchase Orders and deliveries to Account Managers and National Accounts.
- Ensure customer orders progress smoothly from receipt through to fulfilment.
Stakeholder Coordination
- Liaise with the Accounts team to raise, track, and reconcile Purchase Orders (POs).
- Report stock shortages and supply issues to the Buying, Sales, and National Accounts teams.
- Build strong working relationships across departments to ensure clear and effective communication.
Operational Excellence
- Support wider operational activity including stock updates, returns, and logistics administration.
- Lead on operational uploads and small-scale internal projects.
- Monitor operational activity and identify potential issues before they impact customers or internal teams.
- Support the wider Operations team with day-to-day priorities as required.
Process Ownership
- Maintain accurate systems, records, and operational reporting.
- Take ownership of assigned processes and ensure tasks are completed accurately and within agreed deadlines.
- Identify and suggest improvements to operational processes and ways of working.
- Support the implementation of process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications & Skills
We’re looking for someone who enjoys getting things organised and takes pride in keeping operations running smoothly. If solving problems, spotting issues, and making sure everything is where it needs to be gives you a quiet sense of satisfaction, you’ll fit perfectly here.
While not every box is essential, the following qualities would make you an ideal candidate:
- Previous experience in an operations, logistics, supply chain, or order management role.
- Advanced Excel skills, with the ability to confidently work with large datasets, formulas, lookups, PivotTables, and reporting.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Confident communicator who can build effective relationships with stakeholders across departments.
- High attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy.
- Comfortable working with order processing systems and maintaining accurate records.
- Ability to take ownership of tasks and manage small projects from start to finish.
- Proactive approach with the confidence to identify issues and suggest practical solutions.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-moving environment and meet deadlines.
