Bar Supervisor – Calvo Loco Exeter
Full-Time | £13.50–£14.50 per hour + Tronc/Tips | Exeter
Due to the continued growth of Calvo Loco and the opening of our second restaurant in Exmouth, we're looking for an experienced Bar Supervisor to join our team at our original Exeter tapas bar.
One of our existing supervisors is progressing across to help support the new Exmouth restaurant, creating an opportunity for someone new to step into a key role within our Exeter team.
Calvo Loco is a busy, independent Spanish tapas bar with a big focus on great food, cocktails, Spanish wines and relaxed, energetic hospitality.
We're looking for someone who can take real ownership of the bar during service while helping us maintain the atmosphere and standards that have made Calvo Loco what it is today.
The role
You'll work alongside our management team to:
- Lead the bar during busy services
- Make cocktails quickly and consistently
- Maintain our cocktail and drinks standards
- Train and support bartenders and FOH team members
- Keep the bar stocked, organised and ready for service
- Manage bar prep, garnishes and mise en place
- Assist with ordering, deliveries and stock control
- Monitor wastage and help maintain strong margins
- Maintain excellent cleanliness and hygiene standards
- Develop the team's knowledge of cocktails, Spanish wines and spirits
- Support the restaurant floor when required
- Help create the lively, welcoming atmosphere Calvo Loco is known for
Who we're looking for
Ideally, you'll have:
- Previous experience as a Bar Supervisor, Senior Bartender or experienced cocktail bartender
- Strong cocktail and practical bar skills
- Experience working in a busy restaurant or bar
- Confidence leading and training a team
- Good organisation and attention to detail
- An understanding of stock control and wastage
- A genuine interest in drinks and hospitality
- The ability to stay calm and organised during a busy service
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends
Knowledge of Spanish wine and spirits would be a bonus, but we'll provide training where needed.
