We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Warehouse Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse by performing various tasks related to the handling, storage, and distribution of goods. This position requires a proactive individual who can work effectively in a fast-paced environment while adhering to safety standards.
Duties
- Load and unload goods from lorries and containers, ensuring proper handling to avoid damage.
- Pick and pack orders accurately for shipping, following company procedures.
- Stock shelves and maintain inventory levels, ensuring that all items are organised and easily accessible.
- Utilise warehouse management systems (WMS) to track inventory and manage stock levels efficiently.
- Assist with shipping and receiving processes, verifying the accuracy of shipments against packing lists.
- Perform materials handling tasks, including moving heavy items safely throughout the warehouse.
- Operate forklifts and other machinery as required, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment and report any mechanical issues promptly.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure a clean and organised work environment.
Skills
- Previous warehouse experience is highly desirable, with knowledge of stock management practices.
- Proficiency in operating forklifts and familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Strong skills in materials handling, including heavy lifting capabilities.
- Mechanical knowledge is advantageous for troubleshooting equipment issues.
- Experience in construction or related fields can be beneficial for understanding warehouse operations.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
