Job Overview
We are seeking energetic and experienced Civils Operatives with water sector expertise to join our dynamic team in. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on vital infrastructure projects, ensuring the safe and efficient construction, maintenance, and repair of water-related civil engineering works. Duties
- Operate excavators, hand tools, power tools, and other machinery to assist with excavation, installation, and maintenance tasks related to water infrastructure projects
- Assist with welding activities and mechanical tasks to ensure structural integrity of water systems
- Conduct site inspections, ensuring compliance with safety standards and project specifications
- Support electrical work by handling wiring, conduit installation, and troubleshooting electrical components within water facilities
- Use mechanical knowledge to maintain and repair equipment, ensuring operational efficiency
- Follow detailed safety procedures during all operations and report any hazards or incidents promptly
- Collaborate with team members to complete project milestones on time and within scope
Qualifications
- Proven experience working as a civils operative within the water sector or related civil engineering fields
- Hands-on experience with excavators, hand tools, power tools, welding, and mechanical repairs
- Basic electrical knowledge or experience working with electrical systems in water infrastructure is highly desirable
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues effectively
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations relevant to civil works and water projects
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and lift heavy materials safely
- Required certifications for onboarding per team member; water hygiene, shea water, first aid, manual handling, abrasive wheel, clean uk driving licence
- Requirements as a team; at least one member to have NPORS digger, NPORS dumper & street works
- Induction process takes 3-4 weeks, strict working environment but minimum of 4 years ongoing work for the right team.
