About Us
PumpServ is a well-established and growing sales and service business operating within commercial building services. We are looking for an organised and proactive Accounts Assistant to join our busy finance team based in Salfords, Redhill.
This is a varied role supporting the day-to-day running of the finance department. The successful candidate will primarily be responsible for purchase ledger and processing day-to-day financial transactions, whilst also providing support across other areas of the finance function as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing the finance inbox and responding to supplier and customer queries.
- Processing supplier invoices and maintaining the purchase ledger.
- Reconciling supplier statements and resolving invoice discrepancies.
- Preparing supplier payment runs.
- Processing employee expenses and company credit card transactions.
- Processing daily bank transactions and reconciling bank accounts using Xero.
- Assisting with sales ledger and credit control where required, including responding to customer account queries and chasing outstanding payments during periods of absence.
- Processing Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs) and liaising with employees regarding appeals where required.
- Maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the wider finance team with general finance and administrative tasks.
- Undertaking any other ad hoc duties as required.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant or similar finance role.
- Experience of purchase ledger and day-to-day transaction processing.
- Experience using accounting software; experience with Xero would be desirable.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise your workload.
- Good communication skills and the confidence to deal with suppliers, customers and colleagues.
- The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- A positive, flexible attitude and a willingness to support different areas of the finance department as business needs require.

Pay: £28,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
