Senior Responsible Officer (SEND)
As a result of the Government's White and Green paper for schools and SEND, an exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Children's Services team in Northumberland.
Northumberland, in line with the rest of England and Wales, has submitted a Local Area SEND Reform Plan (LARP). We are now required to identify and appoint a Local Authority Officer to hold the role of Senior Responsible Officer (SRO) for this development.
They are to work with the SEND Local Area Partnership to develop the plan, deliver its actions and maximise impact to meet the measures set out in the plan.
About the role:
The role will work to the Executive Partnership Board and be line managed during this initial fixed term contract by the Executive Director of Children, Young People and Education. This is a one-year fixed term role mirroring the transformation funding provided by DFE.
The role will work 0.6 FTE and with flexible days on site and working across the partnership with our schools, settings and partners, reporting to the Partnership Executive Board and preparing the partnership for quarterly monitoring by DFE as core functions.
This role is for an exceptional individual who is steeped in the Northumberland SEND strategy and partnership. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in Children's and SEND and will be credible working with partners across the SEND system.
