The Ensign Ewart is a busy, independently owned and run historic pub and whisky bar near Edinburgh Castle at the top of The Royal Mile. Passionate about all things Scottish, with cask ales, an ever changing whisky list, Scottish gins, live folk music every night and simple, delicious food.
This a great chance to join a hard working, positive team and would particularly suit someone with a passion for whisky who is looking to take a step towards working in hospitality and learn a bit more. We have been steadily growing our reputation as one of Edinburgh's best whisky bars, with our regular break even bottles attracting whisky fans from all over.
Situated a stone's throw from Edinburgh Castle, we're probably one of the busiest wee pubs in town, so an ability to thrive in a busy environment is essential, but we value work/life balance, and offer plenty of perks, including (but not limited to) a great base rate of pay (above minimum wage), tips, free staff meals, staff taxis home after a night shift, twice yearly loyalty bonuses, proper staff nights/days out, distillery trips, tastings etc...
Previous experience in a similar busy environment is preferable, but not essential as all training will be provided, however a great attitude and work ethic are a must! An interest in whisky, or a desire to learn more is a bonus.
