Experienced Butcher / General Operative
R Hutchinson and Sons Butchers are looking to recruit an experienced butcher or skilled meat operative to join our busy and growing team.
We are particularly interested in applicants who already have experience working within a butcher's shop, meat processing environment, or food production setting. However, applications from hardworking and reliable individuals with relevant transferable experience will also be considered.
Hours and rate of pay will be discussed with the successful candidate and will be based on experience, skills, and availability. Full-time and part-time applications may be considered.
The successful candidate may be required to carry out the following duties:
- Processing and preparing meat for sale and customer orders
- Producing and preparing products including burgers, sausages, marinated products and other value-added lines
- Packing, labelling and preparing pre-packed orders
- Preparing orders for restaurants, delis and wholesale customers
- Serving customers and maintaining a high standard of customer service
- Maintaining and stocking the shop counter and displays
- General cleaning and housekeeping duties
- Following food hygiene and health & safety procedures
Essential Requirements:
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Good communication skills
- Ability to read and write fluent English
- Reliable and punctual
Preferred Requirements:
- Previous butcher, meat processing or food production experience
- Full driving licence
