About the Role
This position would be particularly suited to someone who is currently studying towards an accounting qualification (such as AAT, ACCA or CIMA) and is looking to broaden their experience across finance, procurement, tendering and business administration within a growing company.
Alongside supporting the finance function, you will also play an important role in procurement, Schedule of Rates (SOR) management, tender submissions and general office administration.
Key Responsibilities
Finance & Accounts
- Assist with weekly and monthly payroll preparation.
- Process purchase invoices and supplier statements.
- Raise customer invoices and credit notes.
- Support the Finance Assistant with day-to-day accounting duties.
- Reconcile purchase orders, invoices and supplier accounts.
- Assist with month-end procedures.
- Maintain accurate financial records and filing systems.
- Support credit control where required.
Procurement & Schedule of Rates (SORs)
- Assist with procurement of materials, equipment and office supplies.
- Obtain quotations and negotiate with suppliers.
- Create, maintain and update client Schedule of Rates (SORs).
- Analyse supplier and subcontractor pricing.
- Ensure pricing schedules remain accurate and commercially competitive.
- Support contract mobilisation and pricing exercises.
Tendering
- Assist with the preparation and submission of tenders.
- Compile pricing schedules and supporting documentation.
- Liaise with operational teams to gather tender information.
- Complete pre-qualification questionnaires (PQQs) and compliance documentation.
- Maintain tender registers and renewal dates.
Office & Business Support
- Provide general administrative support across all departments.
- Answer incoming telephone calls and respond to enquiries.
- Prepare reports, letters and company documentation.
- Maintain electronic and paper filing systems.
- Support HR administration and onboarding where required.
- Assist Directors and senior management with business projects.
- Undertake ad hoc administrative duties to support the smooth running of the office.
Person Specification
Essential
- Previous experience in an accounts, finance or administration role.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong numerical and analytical ability.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to prioritise multiple tasks and work independently.
- Professional communication skills.
Desirable
- Studying towards an AAT, ACCA or CIMA qualification.
- Experience with payroll administration.
- Experience preparing invoices and purchase ledger.
- Experience working with Schedule of Rates (SORs).
- Previous experience with procurement or tender submissions.
- Experience within the construction, maintenance or facilities management industry.

Pay: £25,420.00-£35,000.00 per year
