Join a team dedicated to empowering neurodiverse students in higher education. We’re seeking a specialist tutors to provide one-to-one in person support for university students under DSA funding for SPLD and ASC.
Support may be needed at campus or student homes depending on student needs.
Study Skills Support (SS-SPLD and ASC):
Key Responsibilities:
- Help students develop independent learning strategies
- Improve academic writing, reading comprehension, and research skills
- Support time management, organisation, and planning for deadlines
- Encourage use of academic resources and referencing techniques
- Create personalised action plans and track progress
Required Professional Body Membership, one of the following for SPLD:
- The Professional Association of Teachers of Students with Specific Learning Difficulties (PATOSS). - Full membership, associate membership, affiliate professional.
- British Dyslexia Association (BDA) - AMBDA, AMBDA RE/HE, Professional
- The Association of Dyslexia Specialist in Higher Education (ADSHE) - Professional QA Tutor membership
- Dyslexia Guild (DG) - Associate, Associate FE/HE, Member, Fellow.
Required Qualifications for ASC:
- Postgraduate Degree
- Comprehensive autism-specific training for higher education (e.g. NAS Modules or Optimum Training Course)
- Teaching Qualification or professional body membership as above.
Required for all roles:
- Right to work in the UK
- Enhanced DBS Clearance (update service preferred)
- Ability to travel to local campuses and/or student homes for in-person support

- CPD and understanding of aditional SPLD such as ADHD and its impact on students.
- Able to provide multiple support types under DSA requirements

- Caseload management and accurate record-keeping
