Manor Farm Feeds Limited are a compound feed milling operation based at Dunnington, Driffield, East Yorkshire. The business is run alongside an arable farming operation and a renewable energy production business.
Job Purpose:
This is a very varied role and as a multi skilled engineer you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing and improving production equipment to minimise downtime and maximise production efficiency within the feed mill. You will also be required to carry out general repairs and maintenance on farm equipment and buildings; and you will ensure the safe operation of machinery while maintaining compliance with health, safety and feed safety standards. You will play a key role in driving continuous improvement to enhance equipment reliability, operational performance and overall site efficiency. Your normal working hours would be Monday to Friday on daytime shifts, together with rota’d Saturday work and an agreed callout rota.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake planned preventative maintenance and update maintenance records accordingly, with the aim of minimising downtime and maximising production capacity
- Identify recurring faults and implement permanent solutions
- Respond to machinery breakdowns and diagnose electrical and mechanical faults
- Ensure all machinery operates within health and safety guidelines as well as ensuring no compromise on feed safety or quality
Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience working as a multi-skilled engineer within a manufacturing or production environment
- Experience with electrical and mechanical systems on manufacturing machinery
- The ability to diagnose faults and repair effectively
- Be able to perform planned preventative maintenance
- Knowledge of PLC systems
- Manage own workload and prioritise
- Excellent communication skills are essential in order to work with the production management team and the wider site management team
