Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Ground Worker/Plant Operator to support our operations at our site. This role involves assisting with ground maintenance, operating plant machinery, and ensuring the smooth functioning of site activities. The ideal candidate will be physically fit, safety-conscious, and eager to contribute to a dynamic team environment. The individual must be competent working by himself and leading a gang to complete jobs to a quality standard. Must have experience and knowledge in groundworks and civils including laying concrete slabs, shuttering, installing reinforced steel and installation of bolt boxes
Responsibilities
- Operate various plant machinery and equipment safely and efficiently
- Assist with ground preparation, maintenance, and landscaping tasks
- Support the loading and unloading of materials using appropriate equipment
- Conduct routine inspections of machinery and report any faults or issues
- Maintain a clean and organised work area to ensure safety standards are met
- Follow health and safety protocols at all times during operations
- Assist with site setup and organisation for ongoing projects
- Support team members with additional tasks as required
Skills
- Proven experience in plant operation or ground work is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
- Good physical fitness with the ability to perform manual labour for extended periods
- Strong understanding of health and safety procedures in a construction or industrial environment
- Ability to operate heavy machinery such as diggers, loaders, or excavators is advantageous
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Reliable team player with good communication skills
- Valid driving licence is preferred but not mandatory
