Primary Teacher Required – Year 2 Learner (Sutton, SM5)
GoWise Learning is seeking a warm, engaging and experienced teacher to provide weekly 1:1 support for a Year 2 learner in the family home.
Location: Sutton (SM5)
Day/Time: Mondays at 5:00pm
Pay: £35 per hour
Start Date: As soon as possible
About the Learner
We are supporting a friendly, enthusiastic and engaging Year 2 learner who enjoys interactive activities and responds well to positive relationships and encouragement.
The learner demonstrates good engagement with learning and particularly enjoys Maths activities, games and hands-on tasks. They are eager to participate and benefit from teaching approaches that are creative, motivating and tailored to their individual learning style.
Areas of support include:
- Maths at Year 2 level
- English at Year 2 level
- Reading and comprehension
- Writing skills, including sentence structure
- Confidence in expressing ideas and opinions
- Emotional literacy and self-awareness
The ideal tutor will:
- Hold QTS or PGCE
- Have experience teaching Key Stage 1 pupils
- Be confident delivering Maths and English at Year 2 level
- Be able to assess learning needs and deliver engaging sessions
- Build positive and trusting relationships with children
- Use creative, child-centred approaches to learning
- Have a calm, patient and nurturing manner
Essential Requirements:

✅ Relevant teaching qualification
✅ Strong safeguarding knowledge
✅ Ability to travel to Sutton (SM5)
