Vehicle Technician
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Vehicle Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of vehicles to ensure they operate safely and efficiently. The role requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct routine vehicle servicing, maintenance, and repairs.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults using diagnostic equipment.
- Perform vehicle inspections and identify necessary repairs or replacements.
- Repair or replace defective parts, components, and systems.
- Carry out MOT preparation work and vehicle safety checks.
- Test vehicles after repairs to ensure faults have been resolved.
- Complete job cards, service records, and maintenance documentation accurately.
- Ensure compliance with manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Provide technical advice and support to customers and colleagues when required.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, City & Guilds qualification, or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Vehicle Technician, Mechanic, or Automotive Technician.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in using vehicle diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Knowledge of modern vehicle systems, including electrical and electronic components.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Valid driving licence.
Preferred Qualifications
- MOT Tester certification.
- Experience working with multiple vehicle brands.
- Hybrid and electric vehicle maintenance certification.
Working Conditions
