About the role
At West Northants Council, it’s about our people and the difference they make. As a Pensions Support Clerk, you’ll join our Pensions Service and play an important role in helping to deliver an efficient, accurate and customer-focused service to members of the Local Government Pension Scheme.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with detailed information, providing great customer service and supporting colleagues as part of a collaborative team. Whether you already have experience in pensions administration or are looking to develop your administrative career in a specialist area, you’ll have the opportunity to learn, grow and make a meaningful contribution to a service that supports thousands of members and employers.
What will you be doing?
You’ll provide vital administrative support across the Pensions Service, helping to ensure pension records and documentation are maintained accurately and efficiently. Your role will involve processing pension-related information, responding to enquiries from members and employers, supporting the administration of pension governance meetings and helping to deliver a range of projects and service improvements.
Working closely with colleagues across the service, you’ll support the administration of pension scheme activities, maintain accurate records and provide information that helps members make informed decisions about their pension benefits. You’ll also play an important role in ensuring high standards of customer service while maintaining confidentiality and compliance with relevant legislation
About you
You’re an organised and motivated individual with strong communication skills and excellent attention to detail. You enjoy working with data and systems, are comfortable managing competing priorities and take pride in producing accurate work. You’re able to work effectively as part of a team while also using your initiative to manage your own workload and meet deadlines.
Experience in pensions administration or a similar administrative environment would be beneficial, but we are equally interested in candidates who have strong organisational skills, a positive attitude and a willingness to learn. You’ll be committed to delivering excellent customer service and building your knowledge in a specialist area, while reflecting our THRIVE values in everything you do.
