Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Care Assistant to join our dynamic team, providing exceptional support and care to residents in various long-term care settings. Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary
- Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration to ensure residents’ health status is maintained
- Administer medications accurately following prescribed protocols and document all medication activities within Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems
- Provide specialized care for residents with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease, employing memory care techniques and behavior management strategies
- Support residents during meal preparation and feeding to promote proper nutrition and hydration
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by assisting with housekeeping duties such as cleaning resident areas and ensuring infection control standards are met
- Document resident progress, changes in condition, and incident reports diligently while communicating effectively with healthcare teams and family members
Qualifications
- Previous experience in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home & community care environments is highly desirable
- Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, memory care techniques, and behavior management strategies
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to provide compassionate support to residents from diverse backgrounds
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail
