We are looking for a proactive, resilient, and organized Family Support Lead who excels at building effective working relationships with pupils, staff, and external agencies to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will act as a bridge between home and school, working closely with parents, carers, and external professionals to overcome barriers to learning.
As Family Support Lead, you will serve as the primary point of contact for parents and carers of vulnerable pupils, offering tailored support. You will develop and implement targeted strategies to enhance pupil attendance, engagement, and progress. A key part of your role involves building and maintaining effective, collaborative relationships with external agencies and professionals. Additionally, you will serve as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL), partnering with the DSL to uphold the highest standards of child protection, safety, and wellbeing for all students.

Salary: West Sussex NJC point 20-24 £32,597-£35,412 (Estimated Actual £25,727-£27,949)
Contract Type: Permanent
Working Pattern: 38 Weeks per year, 35 hours per week, 08.30-16.00 with a 30 minute unpaid lunch

What You Need to Succeed
The ideal Family Support Lead will be someone who:
- Is a great communicator, who develops positive relationships with young children and families through excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on active listening.
- Possesses strong organizational and time management skills.
- Has an ability to build effective working relationships with pupils, staff, and families.
- Has a strong understanding and commitment to maintaining professional boundaries and confidentiality at all times.
- Demonstrates a genuine commitment to safeguarding and inclusive education, with proven safeguarding knowledge and experience, or a willingness to complete DSL training.
