We are a local family based business operating at the forefront of the UK Bridal industry.
We over 40 staff operating at 5 Yorkshire based locations, we make dreams come true. In our 25th year, we have the following vacancy urgently available - Warehouse Supervisor.
A position now exists for a competent and motivated warehouse supervisor at our Wakefield Head Office near Junction 41 of the MI motorway. Duties include unpacking imports, dealing with packing lists and identifying errors. Collating stock from the warehouse for dispatch to both our own Yorkshire based stores and export overseas including shipping as required.
Utilising data to trend sales and recommend factory order volumes to senior management. Updating internal systems to reflect stock holding, creating internal bar codes and associated paperwork as required.
Although training will be given it is essential that the successful candidate has a can do attitude, thorough attention to detail, is PC literate and can work as part of a small friendly team. A UK driving lisence would also be very useful as some local in person deliveries will be required. Responsibilities
- Supervise daily warehouse activities including materials handling, shipping, and receiving operations.
- Lead and manage warehouse team members to ensure productivity and adherence to safety protocols.
- Utilise warehouse management systems (WMS) such as AS400 to track inventory levels, order processing, and stock movements.
- Implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service quality.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including heavy lifting procedures.
- Manage stock rotation, storage organisation, and space utilisation within the warehouse.
- Oversee shipping & receiving activities to ensure timely dispatches and deliveries.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory movements; troubleshoot discrepancies as needed.
Experience
- Proven experience in warehouse management or supervisory roles within a logistics or distribution environment.
- Familiarity with warehouse management.
- Experience with process improvement initiatives aimed at increasing efficiency and reducing waste.
- Knowledge of shipping & receiving procedures and logistics coordination
- Physical capability for heavy lifting tasks; comfortable working in physically demanding environments.
