Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and versatile Handy Person to join our facilities team to assist with general maintenance, minor repairs, and ensuring the site remains safe, operational, and compliant with health and safety standards. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to work independently. The position offers an opportunity to utilise a broad skill set in a dynamic environment, ensuring the smooth operation of our premises.
Responsibilities
- Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on various equipment and building infrastructure
- Perform routine inspections of the facility, identifying and addressing maintenance issues proactively
- Assist with installation, movement, and setup of machinery, equipment, and workspaces
- Maintain site infrastructure including doors, fixtures, flooring, storage, toilet and office areas
- Keep tools, equipment, and maintenance areas clean and organised and in good working order
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and organisational policies
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections
- Work closely with production and engineers to support operational needs
Requirements
- Proven experience in maintenance, repair, or related roles
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to maintenance work
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal
- Customer service orientation with a professional attitude towards clients and colleagues
- Use of hand and power tools
- Be available for overtime and callouts when needed
- Ability to work on own and as a pat of a team
Desirable
- Experience in manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Able to complete all safety documentation regarding health and safety.
- Forklift or MEWP licence.
- Basic welding or fabrication skills.
- Plumbing.
This role is ideal for a proactive individual with diverse technical skills who enjoys hands-on work. In this hands‑on role, you’ll carry out routine maintenance, assist senior fitters and engineers with repairs, and ensure the site remains safe, tidy, and fully operational.
