Overview
We're looking for a friendly cafe cook team member to join our small independent cafe in Brinsley.
We are seeking a talented and passionate Cook/Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes, ensuring high standards of food quality and safety. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong background in food preparation to develop their skills within a dynamic environment.
Duties
- Must be available weekends, this role is predominantly Saturdays and Sundays with additional hours available during the week to cover leave and other team members.
- Prepare and cook a wide range of dishes according to recipes and menu specifications
- Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with food safety and hygiene standards
- Assist in meal planning and portion control to minimise waste
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area at all times
- Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory management
- Collaborate with team members to deliver exceptional dining experiences
- Serve food efficiently to customers, maintaining professionalism and friendliness
- Follow health and safety regulations diligently during all stages of food preparation and service
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and meal assembly
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Previous experience working in a catering environment is essential.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Good communication skills to work effectively within a team
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and menu requirements
- Passion for culinary arts and a commitment to delivering high-quality dishes
