Planning & Operations Administrator
Location: Newport, East Yorkshire
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm, 42.5 hours per week
Salary: £14.11 per hour

The role
We are looking for an organised and proactive Planning & Operations Administrator to join our busy planning team.
Working in a fast-paced FMCG production environment, you will provide essential administrative support to the Planning Manager and wider planning and operations teams. You will help ensure that information is accurate, documentation is completed on time and daily operational activities run smoothly.
This role would suit someone who is confident handling a high volume of information, comfortable working to tight deadlines and able to communicate effectively with different departments across the business.
Key responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to the Planning Manager and wider planning and operations teams.
- Maintain accurate planning, production and operational records.
- Input, update and check information on internal systems, databases and spreadsheets.
- Prepare and distribute production paperwork, operational documents and routine reports.
- Support the coordination of daily planning and operational activities.
- Assist with scheduling, correspondence, procurement and general departmental administration.
- Communicate with teams including Production, Intake, Goods Out, Technical and Commercial.
- Help maintain the smooth flow of accurate information across the operation.
- Monitor stock, packaging and planning information as required.
- Raise and track queries, escalating issues when appropriate.
- Support the resolution of operational or customer-related queries.
- Ensure paperwork is completed accurately, filed appropriately and kept up to date.
- Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive business information.
- Support holiday and weekend cover when required.
What we are looking for:
Essential
- Previous experience working within an FMCG or manufacturing environment.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise your own workload.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet time-sensitive deadlines.
- A high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Good numerical and analytical skills.
- Confident communication skills and the ability to work effectively with different departments.
- Good IT skills, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- A self-motivated, proactive and dependable approach.
- A good standard of written and spoken English.
Desirable
- Previous experience supporting a planning, production or operations function.
- Experience using planning, production or stock-management systems.
- Previous experience preparing operational reports and documentation.
Working hours and flexibility
The core working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm. Some flexibility with start and finish times may be required to meet business needs.
You must also be prepared to provide occasional weekend and holiday cover. Additional hours may be required during our busiest periods, including Christmas, Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day and Easter.
