Oakmont Services Group are seeking passionate and enthusiastic Senior Residential Support Workers to join us on a permanent basis in our 4 bedroom home, in Pontarddulais. The new home offers placements to young people between the ages of 8 to 18, who have social, emotional and mental health needs.

Being a Senior Support Worker at Oakmont Services Group means you will work very closely with young people that may display challenging behaviour and so you will be required to develop excellent relationships which are built and driven by trust. You will also be required to support our young people on a practical basis to ensure that they are prepared for a bright and productive future.

Duties:
As a Senior Support Worker, you’ll be responsible for the following:
- Supporting management to lead a successful staff team and supporting the manager to run all day-to-day operations of the home.
- Leading a staff team, ensuring that regular supervision is received and by also ensuring that the staff team are fully supported within their roles.
- Supporting management in the induction of new staff members into the homes policies, procedures and culture.
- Ensuring the highest standards of care and support are provided in relation to the young people’s physical, behavioural and emotional needs.
- Being the young person’s champion and as part of the wider team strive to ensure that they achieve their aspirations and full potential.
- Assisting the management in ensuring that effective care planning and risk assessing is conducted on a regular basis.
- Supporting young people in daily activities including family contact, attending local clubs, their education, 1:1 activities in the community, promoting independence and social behaviour.
- You will also be responsible in managing key working in line with our individualised key working program which is overseen by management and clinical professionals.
A QCF Level 3 Health and Social Care in Children and Young People qualification is essential for this role. Successful applicants will have strong previous experience of working with children and young people with challenging behaviour. We are also interested in hearing from candidates who have strong relatable experience outside of working with children and young people but who are looking for a new environment and challenge.

- Experience as a Senior Support worker with Children and Young People.
- It would also be great if you have experience with PBS or in working with challenging behaviour.
