Overview
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Labourer/Forklift Driver to join our busy warehouse team. The ideal candidate will possess strong warehouse management skills, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to handle materials efficiently. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to develop their skills within a dynamic logistics environment. All positions are paid, including internships, and require a commitment to safety and operational excellence.
Duties
- Operate forklift trucks safely and efficiently to load and unload goods
- Manage materials handling tasks, including stacking, organising, and relocating stock within the warehouse
- Conduct basic equipment maintenance checks to ensure operational safety
- Utilise warehouse management systems to track inventory movements and update records accurately
- Support with general warehouse organisation, including cleaning and maintaining a tidy workspace
- Participate in stock counts and inventory audits as required
Skills
- Proven experience operating forklift trucks in a warehouse setting
- Strong understanding of warehouse management systems and inventory control procedures
- Ability to handle heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Familiarity with materials handling techniques and shipping & receiving protocols
- Basic maths skills for inventory counting and data entry tasks
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail
- Previous warehouse experience is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates
This role requires a proactive approach, safety awareness, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Candidates should be prepared to demonstrate mechanical aptitude, physical stamina, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of safety within the warehouse environment.
Pay: £12.71-£14.00 per hour
