MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
WORKING ALONSIDE OUR ACTIVITIES CO-ORDINATORS
To maintain a full programme of activities one week in advance
To display the activities programme and promote the events.
To encourage residents to participate in the activities with the assistance of the care staff.
To work with the Manager in identifying Residents social needs and include specific activities in line with their needs and dependency.
The activity programme is to include mental and physical stimulation events in keeping with these needs.
A daily statement of activities, to include individual’s responses and participation to the programmes.
Create some stimulus for those residents not wishing to be involved in group activities.
In agreement with the Manager the activities programmes will involve other staff members to participate and promote the events.
In agreement with the Manager to promote smaller activity groups which will involve care staff participation.
Organise outside agencies to deliver entertainment for the residents.
To promote the home by organising events to include residents families, social workers and the local community.
To organise fund raising activities.
To attend residents meetings.
To maintain shop of amenities for the shopping trolley
To keep a log of activities to be audited by the manager
Summary
As a Care Home Activity Person, you will be essential in enhancing the quality of life for residents through engaging activities and social interactions. Reporting to the Care Home Manager, you will utilize your core skills in communication and care home experience to foster a supportive environment. Your premium skills in senior care, dementia care, and assisted living will enable you to tailor activities that meet the diverse needs of residents. With a focus on promoting well-being, your role will be vital in creating a vibrant community for those in your care.
9am to 4pm Monday-Friday, Working alternate weekends with occasional later starts and/or finishes depending on Entertainment going on, but will be arranged in advanced.
Qualifications
- Strong communication skills to engage with residents and their families
- Experience in care home settings, particularly in assisted living and nursing homes
- Background in senior care, with a focus on dementia and Alzheimer's care
- Proven ability to provide compassionate care and support to elderly individuals
- Relevant certifications in caregiving or related fields are a plus
Pay: £12.71 per hour
