Trent Hire and Sales, a premier provider of equipment hire and sales solutions in Retford, Nottinghamshire, is currently seeking a skilled and experienced Plant Fitter to join our dynamic team. With a reputation for excellence and a vast inventory of plant and machinery, we pride ourselves on delivering outstanding service to our clients. The largest piece of plant machinery we handle is a 2.7t excavator, 3t dumper or 120cm roller, we also offer bespoke repair services for customer-owned plant and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance and Repairs: Conduct routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a variety of plant machinery, including but not limited to our largest 2.7t excavators, ensuring all equipment is in prime working condition.
- Customer Repairs: Provide timely and efficient repair services for customer-owned plant and equipment, adhering to the highest standards of workmanship and customer service.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe working environment at all times.
- Inventory Management: Assist in managing parts inventory for repairs and maintenance, including ordering and stocking parts as needed.
- Quality Assurance: Perform quality checks on all machinery and equipment post-repair to ensure they meet or exceed operational and safety standards.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and parts inventory, ensuring all documentation is up to date and in compliance with company policies.
Requirements:
- A valid driver's license is necessary as moving equipment to and from site will be required.
- Proven experience as a Plant Fitter or in a similar role, with a strong background in the repair and maintenance of plant machinery.
- Familiarity with the operational mechanics of a wide range of plant and construction equipment, specifically including experience with excavators up to 2.7t.
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong commitment to safety protocols and regulations.
- Good communication and customer service skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and team members.
- Flexibility to handle emergency repair requests and adapt to changing work priorities.
- Relevant qualifications in mechanical engineering or a related field are highly desirable.
