We have an exciting opportunity for an Early Years Senco to join our team. This person needs to be outgoing, friendly and motivated to complement our current fabulous team.
The position does require a full and relevant level 3 childcare qualification, with additional knowledge and experience working with children who have a range of additional needs. The successful candidate will spend time in the rooms but will also get time out for meetings and any paperwork that is needed.
Our setting is a term time only, pack away environment situated in the grounds of Holy Trinity Church. The preschool has an extremely good reputation in the local community which allows us to thrive and succeed.
Duties will include:-
Supporting all children's learning and development whilst following the Early Years Foundation Stage statutory requirements.
Additional support for children with special educational needs. including writing Individual eductation plans following the graduated approach and some cases will need an Education Health Care Plan written.
Working as part of a dynamic team.
Building good relationships with parents.
Planning exciting activities and opportunities for all children to enjoy.
Being involved in fundraising events.
Although the position is term time only your wage is equated over a year so you would receive a basic monthly wage. (Who wouldn't want to work 38 weeks per year but still get monthly earnings?)
The successful candidate will be someone who:-
- Laughs and jokes with the children even when it's not funny!
- Shows interest in children's 'masterpieces' as each and every child could be the next Banksy!
- Will sing and dance like no-one is watching to encourage the next Harry Styles or Taylor Swift!
- Is able to pronounce dinosaur names or be prepared to be corrected by the children!
- Will be outside in the rain without thinking they will shrink if they get wet!
- Comforts upset children even if there is snot from one ear to the other!
- Is able to accurately count fast moving children, without forgetting to find the one child hiding under the table!
- Is, most importantly, able to remember; no matter what has happened in your day, that each and every child appreciates your smile, hugs, conversation and time spent with them so they can enjoy their day :)
