The Role
As a Therapeutic Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting children and young people within a residential setting.
You will provide day-to-day care, build meaningful relationships, and support young people to develop confidence, resilience, and life skills—helping them move towards positive futures.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide safe, nurturing, and child-centred care
- Build positive, trusting relationships with young people
- Support emotional wellbeing using trauma-informed approaches
- Help young people engage in education, health, and community activities
- Respond to behaviours with empathy, understanding, and consistency
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to care planning
- Work as part of a supportive team
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
- Experience working with children or young people (residential or related setting)
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection
- Ability to build strong, professional relationships
- Willingness to work shifts, including sleepovers
- Willingness to register with the SSSC
- A reflective, compassionate, and resilient approach
Desirable:
- HNC Social Care or SVQ Level 3 (Children & Young People)
- Knowledge of trauma-informed practice, GIRFEC and Safeguarding.

Important Information
This role involves regulated work with children and requires PVG Scheme membership.
The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Scotland), and successful applicants will be required to disclose relevant convictions.

Pay: £33,298.00-£35,850.00 per year
