Duties
- Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to identify mechanical issues and diagnose problems accurately
- Perform repairs on engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems, and other vehicle components using hand tools and power tools
- Replace worn or damaged parts with precision and efficiency, ensuring all work meets safety standards
- Utilize heavy lifting techniques and equipment to handle large or heavy vehicle components safely
- Maintain detailed records of all repairs, maintenance activities, and parts used for each vehicle
- Test drive vehicles post-repair to verify the quality of work and ensure proper functioning
- Follow safety protocols rigorously during all maintenance procedures to prevent accidents or injuries
Qualifications
- Proven mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in vehicle repair and maintenance
- Proficiency in using hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, and socket sets
- Experience operating power tools safely and effectively in a workshop setting
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely as part of routine repair tasks
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail for accurate diagnostics and repairs
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with team members and report on repair status
- Relevant certifications or technical training in automotive repair or related fields are preferred but not mandatory
