Job Title: Accounts Assistant (Credit Control)
Report To: Financial Controller
Salary: £30,000 - £35,000
Hours: Monday to Friday - 39 hours per week, 1 day working from home

Responsibilities:
- Ownership of sales ledger and credit control
- Support month-end and quarter-end activities related to accounts receivable
- Daily posting of proforma (bank and cheque) and factored payments into ERP system.
- Setting up and managing customer accounts, including obtaining credit limits.
- Ensure the resolution of customer financial queries by communicating with Customer Services and Sales Team.
- Ensure effective credit control across all customer accounts with the timely collection of debts (including sending customer statements, debtor letters etc.)
- Close monitoring of aged debt, reporting 60+ day overdue items to the Finance Controller and our credit insurers.
- Monitor order review screen, releasing and holding orders to be despatched as required.
- Upload factored debts to RBS Facflow portal daily.
- Weekly and monthly reconciliation of factoring account, obtaining invoice finance aged debt report at month end.
- Monthly reconciliation of NMBS customer account.
- Monthly upload of customer buying group figures to reconcile rebates.
Essential Skills and Experience Required:
- Previous experience in an accounts role, ideally with sales ledger responsibilities
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy and assertiveness
- Comfortable communicating with customers by phone
- Excellent time management
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook)
- A calm, level-headed approach
- AAT level 3
Desired Skills and Experience Required:
- Experience working with Merlin Business Software/ Microsoft Business Central
- AAT Qualified (Level 4)
