This role will be working from our Southampton office on a hybrid working arrangement which is flexible and will be discussed at interview
What will you be responsible for:
As the primary point of support, you will be providing IT desk top support across the business for staff based both in the offices and at home, across a range of Microsoft Office and other products. You will also be responsible for liaising with outsourced providers, maintaining asset registers, and working to strict, and often short deadlines.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Primary responsibilities will involve telephone, remote and desktop IT support to the business. This will also include the setup and maintenance of users in Active Directory, managing user permissions, and configuring mailbox and Exchange settings in our Microsoft 365 portal.
- Configuring and issuing equipment to staff, arranging shipments of equipment to and from staff home addresses, and maintaining the computer asset registry as devices move around the business.
- Installing Windows and other software packages prior to issuing and keeping an up-to-date inventory list of all equipment assigned to staff across the business.
- You will be the primary point of call for staff seeking assistance with a range of products and devices, including our bespoke Claims Management System.
- Liaising with external providers to source equipment, log warranty work, and manage support tickets through to resolution.
- You will also be providing support and advice across a range of Microsoft Office and other products and devices such as laptops, mobile phones, tablets, and digital dictation machines.
- You will need to interact and communicate effectively with other departments and site teams and work closely with the IT Manager and wider management team to ensure the smooth operation and maintenance of IT and telephony systems across the business.
- You may also be required to do other reasonable works requested by other Departmental Heads/ Directors.
Full training will be provided and once integrated within the IT Department you will become the primary point of call for a wide range of queries. You will be working with staff across all departments within the business to aid and respond to support requests. On occasions you may need to liaise with Clients or Policyholders and demonstrate a high level of professionalism.
You will need a logical thinking process for efficient troubleshooting, problem solving and where possible seek swift resolution and prevent escalations.
What we need from you:
Qualifications & Training
- We are looking for an individual that has as a minimum, a good understanding of basic networking and the Windows and Windows Server Operating Systems but advanced knowledge and with prior training in networking, administration and troubleshooting of these systems is preferred.
Experience
- You will need a good level of knowledge on Microsoft products, although training and guidance will be provided. Knowledge of Apple Products and iOS would be beneficial.
Qualities and Mindset
- You will need to be self-motivated, confident, demonstrate good communication skills and work well with people, given the importance of the primary roles and responsibilities around user support and technical troubleshooting.
- An interest in computer hardware, how systems and applications integrate, and solving technical problems.
- Up-to-date knowledge of the latest IT and software trends and the ability to work well with people.

Pay: £26,400.00-£32,000.00 per year
