About the Role
We are currently recruiting reliable, enthusiastic, and adaptable ALN/SEN Teaching Assistants to work on a supply basis across a range of primary schools in Conwy. These flexible roles involve supporting pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) and Special Educational Needs (SEN), helping them access learning, develop confidence, and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with ALN/SEN
- Assist pupils in accessing learning activities and following individual support plans
- Support pupils with communication, social, emotional, behavioural, or physical needs
- Work closely with class teachers, ALNCOs, and other school staff to implement targeted support strategies
- Promote pupil engagement, independence, wellbeing, and positive behaviour
- Adapt support approaches to meet individual learning needs
- Assist with classroom preparation and organisation of resources
- Follow school policies, safeguarding procedures, and health and safety guidelines
- Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
What We're Looking For
We value transferable skills and experience that can positively support children with additional learning needs. Suitable backgrounds may include:
- Personal or professional experience supporting children or young people with ALN/SEN
- Experience in care, support work, youth work, social care, healthcare, residential care, or community-based roles
- Experience supporting individuals with autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, learning disabilities, physical disabilities, or social, emotional, and mental health needs
- Experience supporting family members or individuals with additional needs
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A patient, nurturing, and empathetic approach
- The ability to build positive relationships and work effectively as part of a team
- Adaptability, resilience, and confidence in supporting a range of needs and behaviours
- Reliability, flexibility, and professionalism
A Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 or Level 3) is beneficial but not essential. Relevant experience and transferable skills will be considered.
