The Urban Company is looking for an experienced and dependable Delivery Driver and Warehouse Operative to join our team.
This is a varied, hands-on position involving furniture and flooring deliveries, forklift operation and the day-to-day organisation of our warehouse.
Key responsibilities:
● Driving the company delivery van throughout Northern Ireland and, when required, the Republic of Ireland
● Delivering furniture, flooring and customer orders safely and efficiently
● Loading and unloading the delivery van
● Operating a forklift to receive, move and organise stock
● Carrying furniture and flooring into customers’ homes
● Handling all products carefully to prevent damage
● Providing a professional and helpful service to customers
● Checking orders against delivery paperwork
● Receiving and checking incoming supplier deliveries
● Reporting damaged, missing or incorrect items
● Picking and preparing customer orders
● Organising stock safely within the warehouse
● Assisting with regular stock checks
● Keeping the warehouse, yard and delivery vehicle clean and organised
Essential requirements:
● Full, valid UK driving licence
● Experience driving a 3.5-tonne delivery van
● Valid counterbalance forklift qualification
● Previous experience operating a forklift in a warehouse environment
● Ability to safely carry out regular manual-handling duties involving heavy and bulky furniture and flooring
● Ability to meet the requirements of the company’s vehicle insurer
● Reliable, punctual and well organised
● Professional and respectful when working in customers’ homes
● Willingness to travel throughout Northern Ireland and occasionally the Republic of Ireland
Previous experience in furniture, flooring, removals, warehousing or a similar delivery role would be particularly beneficial.
Pay: £14.00-£15.00 per hour
